🆕 New Drill Topic: "Become" — Learn How to Transform in Spanish!

We’re excited to introduce a fresh new drill topic on Beeoboop: “Become” — a deep dive into the many ways to express becoming something in Spanish! 🌱✨

This topic explores how to say “become” depending on context, emotion, and transformation, and it’s designed for students at three levels:

🔹 Level 1 – Ponerse (emotional or physical changes)

Cuando recibiĂł la mala noticia, se puso muy nervioso.
When he received the bad news, he became very nervous.

Use ponerse for temporary or emotional changes like becoming nervous, happy, sad, or sick.

🔹 Level 2 – Volverse (lasting or often involuntary changes)

Después de ganar la lotería, se volvió muy arrogante.
After winning the lottery, he became very arrogant.

Use volverse for more permanent shifts in character or behavior—especially sudden or unexpected ones.

🔹 Level 3 – Hacerse (changes involving effort or identity)

Después de vivir en México, se hizo chilango.
After living in Mexico, he became a “chilango” [a local from Mexico City].

Use hacerse when talking about changes in profession, ideology, or identity—often the result of time or conscious effort.
