We’re excited to introduce Beepboop’s newest drill topic: Linking Words!
This drill is designed to help learners strengthen their speaking and writing by using discourse connectors—those small but powerful words and phrases that make communication smoother and more natural.
⚽️Goals of the Drill
-
To use discourse connectors when speaking and writing about friendships.
-
To understand and practice the expressions “al fin de cuentas” and “al fin y al cabo”.
đź”—Why Linking Words Matter
Think about conversations with friends. We rarely speak in short, disconnected sentences. Instead, we link our ideas together to tell stories, share opinions, or explain decisions. That’s exactly what this drill is about—helping you sound more fluent and confident.
Here are some sample sentences you’ll see in the practice:
-
Whitney participa en muchas clases, por eso ha hecho varias amistades.
(Whitney participates in many classes, therefore she has made several friendships.) -
Patty no come mariscos, aunque su familia los produce.
(Patty doesn’t eat seafood, even though her family produces it.) -
Pensé en renunciar, pero al fin de cuentas me quedé.
(I thought about quitting, but in the end I stayed.)
🔢Levels for Everyone
The drill comes in three levels, each one a little more challenging than the last. Whether you’re just starting with connectors or already comfortable using them, you’ll find a level that’s convenient and engaging for you.
